The brief

A city street lifts and folds over onto itself like a closing book, cars and pedestrians continuing on the new vertical plane. The impossible geometry is the easy part; the discipline is that shadows, reflections and falling objects must obey the fold.

Why it's hard

Models will happily bend a city, but they will not keep the physics consistent while doing it. Shadows keep pointing the old way, reflections stop matching, and pedestrians walk as if nothing has changed. Consistency is the whole grade.

Why it's built this way

The impossibility is only believable if everything around it obeys the rules, so the prompt spends most of its words on the two things models break first: a fixed sun with correctly sweeping shadows, and gravity that stays vertical while the surface rotates. Naming loose objects — bottle, hydrant water, pigeons — gives the model something to test gravity against. Vary the hinge: one hinge is legible, two is chaos, and that is a useful thing to discover for yourself.

Watch for

Shadows that stay glued to the buildings as they rotate, and debris falling sideways along the tilting street — both give the fold away instantly; fix the sun's position in the first sentence if it drifts.
