A character walks past something, keeps going for two full steps, and then returns to look at it properly.
Why it's hard
AI compresses the whole thing into a single turn, which kills it. The delay is not dead time — it is the entire joke.
The two wasted steps ARE the joke. Specify them as steps, not as a pause.

The technique is duration discipline inside a locked frame — the comedy lives in the two steps of nothing, which every generative model wants to trim. Tati earns the static wide: no coverage, no push-in, the viewer does the noticing. Vary the object being passed and the walking speed; never vary the two-step delay.
The turn will happen on the same step as the pass — one smooth pivot with no delay — and the camera will helpfully drift toward the object, destroying the deadpan.
