A man in his fifties pours coffee from a dented steel jug into a mug at a kitchen counter, thinking about something else. Mid-pour the idea lands and the pouring simply stops — the jug stays tilted at half angle, the stream thins to a drip, his gaze goes to nothing in particular in the middle distance, and one thumb starts moving on the handle. No raised finger, no lit face, no turn to camera; the idea shows only in the abandoned task. He stays wrong-angled for three seconds before the jug comes level. Withheld, patient framing in Lynne Ramsay's manner: the camera holds slightly wide and lets the body be strange.
